This song is special to me. Written about 15 years ago by myself and Adam Houghton. The inspiration came from a $40 Chorus pedal I got from Union Square; the rest was literally history until now. Lily has been here since the origin of Resonance. She left for four years to pursue degrees in cultural-historic preservation & fine arts from Salve Regina University in Newport Rhode Island. She is once again leaving us; this time heading to Newcastle UK to study oil-paint restoration. She will be opening our show at The Paramount via live stream, and I could not be happier! -Be an Artist!

It is time for Fred to move on from Resonance as he continues his life journey. Although I’m happy to watch his success, it is difficult to see him go. He was a part of our community for about 7 years-maybe more. However, the past two years have proven that Fred can speak the musician’s language; no talking, just understanding, listening, and knowing what to do at all costs. Those are the moments you look up at each other with pride & respect. I hope he continues to master his talent as he starts his new life in Albany. Fred you will be dearly missed. These rooms will forever be filled with your presence. You are an Artist!

For my 200th post I’d like to share: Yesterday was the beginning of a new journey. This is my Zoom setup for the first of many lessons I hope to encounter. Yes, you read that correctly. I have decided to draw inspiration from guitar player, master theorist, & a long-time hero of mine, Alex Skolnick. Our first meetup was wonderful. We talked guitars, gigging, tunes we admire… etc. After sometime vibing, we picked up guitars. He showed me his take on approaching the origin of a melodic line and its resolve using simple-slow notes. It is amazing how we can take things we already know, yet utilize them differently. It was humbling to sit on the opposing side of the bench. (A little scary, too) 🙃 It put into perspective how many students have viewed me over the past 27 years. Bringing music into the world can get stagnant at times. This experience definitely rippled the waters. Thank you, Alex! Stay current & stay passionate. -Be an Artist
